As the number of positive COVID-19 cases in Dallas and Polk Counties continues to rise we have decided to return to phase two of our reopening plan on Monday, November 16th.

Patrons are required to wear a mask while at the library.

Our service desk will remain open, but the rest of the library is closed to the public.

A clerk will be available to assist patrons and provide a limited number of services, including:

  • Retrieving and checking out patrons requested materials
  • Browsing of new items and DVDs; the rest of the collection will once again be closed to the public
  • All materials can be returned using the drop-box on the south side of our building or the drop-boxes next to the service desk
  • One public computer will be available with a 30-minute time limit and limited assistance from library staff
  • Copying, faxing, printing, and scanning will be available
  • New library card applications, card renewals, and replacement cards

Library services will continue to be available from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Wednesdays.

No-contact service continues to be available. Place your holds online using the catalog at Adelpl.org, via email (Librarian@adelpl.org) or by phone (515-993-3512).  The items will be checked out to you and will have a due date slip inside the bag. Checked out materials will be available for pick up in our vestibule

No access is available to the community and meeting rooms, public restrooms, seating, play areas, or story room. No in-person programs or events are planned at this time, and all minors must be accompanied by an adult.

We appreciate your patience, kindness, and understanding as we continue to serve you during this time and safely keep the library open.
