New History of Adel Website!
The Adel Historical Preservation Commission (AHPC) and Adel’s Historical Museum are excited to announce the launch of their new website dedicated to the rich history of Adel: https://www.adelhistory.org/
The website brings Adel’s story to life with historic photographs, stories of local landmarks, digitized books, and more, providing a vibrant online resource for residents, visitors, and history enthusiasts alike.
But Adel’s history isn’t just online — it’s right here in town. Many of the stories featured on the website can be experienced in person at Adel’s Historical Museum, a “hidden gem” located at 1129 Main Street. The site also offers practical information on visiting the museum, highlights of recent improvements, and updates on events.
“We’re thrilled to offer both a vibrant online resource and an inviting physical space where people can connect with Adel’s past,” says Anna Phelps from the AHPC.
Explore the new www.adelhistory.org today — and plan your visit to the museum to step back in time and celebrate the history that makes Adel unique.
Stay tuned throughout 2026 as we continue expanding the website with new content, including profiles of historical leaders, notable local businesses, and historic residences.
