Terry Traveler – Back Roads

Terry Traveller

Hello fellow road warriors! Terry Traveler here, and recently, I’ve been hitting the back roads of our fair county. It is an experience unlike any other.

I love driving out of town, finding gravel roads, and suddenly feeling whisked away with time. Dilapidated barns span undeveloped rolling vistas and open skies.

Farm animals are more common than people; I find their conversations far more engaging than that of the farmers who seem destined to ask, “why are you talking to my cows?”

Because, Sir, they have more to say than you think.

On sunny, warm days the backroads call. I sit back and listen to nature, until I listen to classic rock. I drive slowly- many of you have passed me by on your way to important places, I get it, you’ve got deadlines and such- but as I have no agenda and no master, I simply enjoy the drive.

As we enter May and the weather finally changes from dark, grey days to those filled with sunshine, I implore you to take the opportunity to go for a drive. Away from town and predetermined destinations, slowly meander along old two-lane roads onto gravel paths and breath in the country air.

This is Terry Traveler saying, drive safely, my friends.
