The City of Adel, a rapidly growing suburb in the vibrant Des Moines metropolitan area with a population of approximately 4,000, is accepting applications for the non-exempt position of Accounting Clerk.
This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Finance Director. The Accounting Clerk performs a variety of accounting, financial, and administrative tasks. A complete job description and application can be found at Adel City Hall – 301 S. 10th Street, Adel, IA, 50003.
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience required. Prior municipal experience in municipal government is preferred.
The salary range for this position is $16.50 – $19.00 per hour, with a starting salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is represented by the IUOE Local 234.
City Hall daily hours are Monday – Friday from 8:15 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. Some evening work attending various meetings is required. The City offers a comprehensive benefit package including health insurance and State of Iowa retirement (IPERS).
