Free Friday Entertainment Series – TBA 2016

The Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the schedule for the 2015 Free Friday Concern Series.The events are scheduled on the fourth Friday of each month starting in April and continuing through August.

Penoach Winery Summer Concerts – May – October 2016

Adel’s Penoach Winery, located just North of Adel invites you to a relaxing evening at the Vineyard as you listen to live music and unwind with your favorite glass of Iowa wine.

Iowa Clay Festival – TBA, 2016

Iowa Wine and Iowa Pottery, a perfect combination! This annual event takes place at the Penoach Vineyard and Winery featuring the handcrafted pottery of great Iowa artists and American potters.

Little Sister’s Outdoor Quilt Show – TBA, 2016

Sponsored by Adel Quilting and Dry Goods, The name is a spin off of a very large and famous annual outdoor quilt show in Sister’s Oregon. Quilts are hung around the quilt shop yard, between trees, and everywhere that is open.  In connection with the show, they also have their annual sale of quilts and other sewn items.

Annual Dallas County Sheriff’s Special Olympics All-Wheel Show – TBA, 2016

Hosted on Adel’s Historic Downtown District and famous brick streets, showcasing more than 100 restored classic cars, vendors and live music.

Dallas County Fair – July 6th -10th, 2016

Take in six days of Grand Stand shows, livestock exhibits, rodeo events, live concerts, race events and more during this entertaining week! Various fair buildings are available to rent year round and serve many purposes. Contact the Dallas County Fair Grounds to find out more.

Adel Sweet Corn Festival – August 12th & 13th, 2016

Join us Friday night for corn shucking, the official start of this 30 year Adel tradition. Saturday morning take in the largest parade in Dallas County before enjoying your share of over 7 tons of free sweet corn, performances by local entertainers, and one of a kind craft and food vendors. Then dance the night away at the Community Street Dance and Beer Garden.

Sweet Corn Festival 5K – August 13th, 2016

The race takes place on the scenic brick streets in Adel along the parade route in front of hundreds of spectators. It is exciting to watch the streets come alive as the community celebrates a small town Iowa festival.

Adel Community Thanksgiving Dinner – November 26th, 2015

This dinner is free to the public and everyone is welcome to participate whether you are alone or just want to spend more time with yor family instead of cooking. No reservations are required. Donations will be happily accepted!

Holiday Open House – December 4th, 2015

An Adel tradition for over 18 years, the winter night is warmed by this show of Burls and Ives heritage charm. Visit Adel’s businesses, sample and collect recipes. Enjoy the beautiful window displays and don’t forget to visit Santa.
