April
Iowa Book Festival: Bringing books and book lovers together.
June
Brick Street Classic Car Show: Check out some great classic cars and listen to some classic rock and roll while strolling the square.
July
All Iowa Wine Festival, formerly the "Raccoon Valley Wine Festival", is a great way to spend an early June evening. Sample wines from local wineries and listen to great jazz and blues.
Dallas County Fair, 6 days of Grand Stand shows, livestock exhibits, Rodeo events, live concerts, and race events.
Paddlefest, sponsored by the Raccoon River Watershed Association. Hot July days are best spent on the water, so bring your canoe and spend a day on the river.
August
Adel Sweet Corn Festival, 30 years and counting. Start with the largest parade in Dallas County in the morning and get your share of over 7 tons of free sweet corn being served. End the day with some great music at the street dance.
Adel Historical Museum, be sure to visit the museum on the day of the Adel Sweet Corn Festival. They will have special activities inside and out. Demonstration of a spinning wheel, basket weaving, apple press, homemade ice cream. Eight rooms of artifacts and a special drawing for those that tour the museum.
December
Holiday Open House: Enjoy holiday treat samples and collect recipes at participating businesses. The 2010 Holiday Home Tour is Sunday, December 5th.
Tour of Homes: Sponsored by the Adel Historical Museum. Tour Historic homes decked out in holiday finery.
