Adel Library Closed Aug 14th - 18th for New Edition

The Adel Public Library has recently finished the 3rd and final stage of the library.
The back section of the second floor was completed with funds from the Library Foundation.
Now that the construction is finished the library will be closed August 14th to the 18th to organize the area and to move in books.
The staff at the library are excited for the public to see the newly remodeled 2nd floor.
Plans for a Grand Opening are under way and will be posted here and on the Library site once they are announced.

Next 2 New is now accepting consignments monthly from the 1st thru the 21st on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, we will not be accepting on Fridays and Saturdays or after the 21st of the month thru the end of the month.
Don't forget the Back to School Sales Tax Holiday coming up the first weekend in August on Friday the 3rd and Saturday the 4th.
We will be accepting All Seasons in August and beginning September 1st we will be accepting Fall and Winter items only.

Adel Quilting & Dry Goods Co. will host a Quilt History Study Group on the third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon, June through November.
Meetings will be held at the Adel Library. This program is a study of the prairie women of the mid to late 1800s, how they lived, what they felt and thought, their sewing and quilting habits and how the managed.
Fee for all 6 meetings is $55.00 and includes a lesson for each meeting documenting the history, 7 quilt patterns, refreshments, door prizes, guests speakers and a really great time.

4-H Announces Special Events for 2012 Iowa State Fair

AMES, Iowa – A youth robotics challenge and a culinary challenge are two of the featured Iowa 4-H events at the 2012 Iowa State Fair.
The Bratney Companies 4-H Robotics Challenge and Cook This! 4-H Culinary Challenge return to the 4-H Exhibits Building for five days of competition, said Shelly Greving, marketing director for Iowa State University Extension and Outreach 4-H Youth Development.
