The Big Trees of Dallas County Project honors nature as it appears in trees.
The Dallas County Conservation Board will hold a class on tree identification and a hunt for the biggest trees in Dallas County.
This is the kick off to a year long project to locate, measure and map the county’s largest trees. Registration is required for this free program.

From May 29th to July 20th come into the Adel Public Library to signup for the "Dream Big: Read!" Summer Reading Program. The reading program is open to toddlers, children, teens and adults.
Fun activities of reading and prizes for all ages.
Children who meet reading requirements will be invited to a top reader only pool party.
Teens who meet their reading requirements will have an ice cream party on August 1.

Annual Let's Dance Recital "Celebrate 365 Days of Dance"

The annual Let's Dance Recital "Celebrate 365 Days of Dance" will be held Saturday June 9th at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday June 10th at 2:00 p.m.
The Let's Dance Competitive Team showcase is Sunday June 10th at 1:00 p.m.
All shows are free to the public at the ADM High Auditorium.
Let's Dance offers a variety of dance classes, including tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, pointe and competitive, to children 3-18 years of age.

ISIA 8th Annual Iowa Sheep & Wool Festival June 9-10th

The Iowa Sheep & Wool Festival is Saturday and Sunday, June 9-10th, at the Dallas County Fairgrounds.
- Admission is $5, Parking is Free.
- Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Sunday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Activities include sheep shearing, spinning, weaving, and knitting demonstrations, and a lamb cooking demonstration.

4th Annual Tour The Raccoon June 9 - 10th.

Registration for the Fourth Annual Tour The Raccoon bicycle tour starts May 1st.
Take a relaxing 2 day ride along the Raccoon River Valley Bike trail June 09 and 10th.
Tour organizers hope to have over 250 tour riders using the Raccoon River Valley Trail as they travel through Waukee, Adel, Redfield, Linden, Panora, Yale, Herndon and Cooper on their way to Jefferson.
Each community along the trail will have special activities for riders to attend, with overnight accomedations in Jefferson during the Bell Tower Festival.
Tour the Raccoon is sponsored by the Des Moines Cycle Club.
