Iowa Public Radio to Visit Homecare Services Oct 7th.

Iowa Public Radio (IPR) and Cindy Jones of the Iowa Food Bank of Iowa will be at the Adel site of Homecare Services Inc of Dallas County on October 7th.
IPR is doing a story on Hunger in Iowa and will visit the Adel facility over lunch.
They will be seeking suggestions and comments from all who attend on what can be done to fight Hunger in Iowa.
The entire community is invited to attend and participate the discussion.
Meal time is 11:30 a.m.

Start Somewhere Walk - Oct. 7

Start Somewhere Walk - Friday, October 7 at noon.
The walk, announced by Govenor Branstad in August, is a privately, funded public health initiative to increase overall health of Iowans, part of the governor's Healthiest State Initiative.
The walk starts at the Adel City Hall.
Walk on Raccoon River Valley Trail to 14th Street and back to City Hall. 1k = .62 mile (approx 15 minutes).
Water, healthy snacks, recipes, trail maps and more will be provided.
State organizers would like to set a world record by having 250,000 Iowans participate in the walk on Oct. 7.
Come out and take the first steps to healthier lifestyle and help create history.

The United Methodist Women are again taking orders for nuts which will arrive in mid - November.
To order nuts and/or fruits to have for baking or just munching, please speak to a U.M.W. member - or directly to Joan Bowles (993-3188), who will be taking your orders.
This popular fund-raising effort of the U.M.W. allows you a great opportunity to have quality nuts and fruits for all your holiday baking needs!
