Jan Price has made several of these quilts that have been auctioned off for the Relay for Life fund raising drive.

The Atherton House is holding it's 1st Annual Marbles & More Glass Galore Show this weekend, June 24-26th.
It promises to be a great show, as there will be Daily Presentations from guest artists and an eclectic collection of Jewelry, Marbles, and More!
The Atherton House, known for their "One -of-a-kind items and gifts from around the world" will also be open for your shopping pleasure.

Special Olympics Quad-athon - June 18th
[ June 18, 2011; 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. ]

Don’t miss the Quad-athon this Saturday, June 18 at the Dallas County Fairgrounds.
Teams will compete for the rights to a traveling trophy while raising money for Special Olympics Iowa athletes.
Teams of 10 (with two alternates) are encouraged to register before the event or the day of the competition.
Physical Sports Clinic

A physical sports clinic will be held at the Adel Mercy Medical Clinic in Adel on Tuesday, June 14 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Cost is $15 with all proceeds going to ADM Athletic Dept.

Adel author Colleen Bradford Krantz, whose new book was released this month, will be at Brick Street Books and Cafe on the morning of Friday, June 17th.
Come in for muffins, coffee and a chat after stopping at the Van and Bonnie radio show event on that same stretch of Main Street.
The book, "Train to Nowhere; Inside an Immigrant Death Investigation," tells the full story behind the 2002 deaths of eleven Central Americans and Mexicans whose bodies were found inside a railcar in Denison, Iowa.

Adel Parks and Recreation is currently taking registrations for Youth Golf Lessons!
The lessons are offered to all children grades 1-6 (Grade entering in 2011-2012 school year).
The Instructor will be Matt Juergens.
The cost is $50.00 per participant.

A variety of projects and activities for youth in grades 1-6.
Participants will do arts/crafts in the open air shelters at Evans and Kinnick-Feller Parks in Adel.
Session 1: June 27-July 1st will be held at Evans Park.
Session 2: July 11-15 will be held at Kinnick-Feller Park.
