Maka Ochante is a Lakota term that translates to “a sense of place”.

Each year the Dallas County Conservation Board will invite the drums, singers, dancers and story tellers of a different First Nation.

This year's gathering will feature the Annisnobi Nation.  The closing presentation for the gathering will be given by Dallas Chief Eagle.

The day will be concluded around a bonfire with Dallas' dance and stories.
