Red Cross Babysitting Certification Class

Receive your babysitting certificate and become a certified sitter.

Participants must be at least 11 years old and need to bring a sack lunch.

To register, sign up at Adel Park/Rec. at Adel City Hall.

This training will help students develop skills in: leadership and professionalism; basic care; safety and safe play; and first aid.

Participants learn to prevent, prepare for, and respond to babysitting emergencies.

Children’s behaviors from a variety of ages are discussed. Infant and child handling skills practiced by each participant include: hand washing; feeding; diapering; holding and clothing the infant.

First Aid skills introduced and practiced include: care for bleeding; burns; shock; and choking.

CPR is introduced.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will receive one Babysitter’s Training certificate which is valid indefinitely.

The updated American Red Cross Babysitter's Handbook and CR-ROM is included in the course fee.

Thursday, June 28th, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (Register by June 26th)
Friday, July 27th, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (Register by July 24th)
