The City of Adel will host a Sustainability Workshop on Thursday, August 26th at 5:30pm. The event will be held in the Community Room at the Adel Public Library.

Coordinated by the Greater Dallas County Development Alliance and made possible by a $50,000 Iowa Power Fund Community Grant awarded by the Iowa Office of Energy Independence.

The event will include 17 general sustainability and customized educational workshops on the areas of: renewable energy, green building and streetscapes, green housing, sustainable policy and planning, and sustainable economic development.

The main goal is to build capacity within local officials, community groups, businesses and residents. The workshops will allow them to develop a vision for sustainable initiatives and learn how to implement their plans.

All who are interested in learning more about what Adel can do to become a more sustainable community are welcome to attend. Please RSVP to the City of Adel here.

Another, Advanced Sustainability Workshop will also be held in Adel on Tuesday, October 5th at 5:30pm. This workshop will expand on the information shared in the first one.
