Join the Dallas County Conservation Board for a day long symposium to examine just what is wilderness.
Further, do we need wilderness – what is its value? Can we find wildness in Iowa? What is the future of wilderness and what role do we have in this future?
The symposium will use the voices of musicians, artists and wilderness advocates to explore your answers to these and other questions.
Connie Saylor-Johnson, retired U.S. Forest Service Wilderness Ranger and native Iowan will be a keynote speaker at this event. She, and DCBB Naturalist Chris Adkins, will share the story of 21 years of wilderness treks with Iowans to explore the wilds with you.
